Out of Control Celebrates
27-Years Together
Reuiniting "Shake The
Nation" Horn Section
On Friday, June 5th,
Trick Shot Billiards & Sports Pub on Route 9 in Clifton
Park will host local legendary horn-band faves The Out
of Control Rhythm & Blues Band.
Celebrating their 27th
year together, Out of Control will reunite the 4-piece
horn section heard on their popular 1996 “Shake The
Nation” CD: Rick Rourke on alto & tenor sax, Joe
“Box” Dragone on lead tenor, Tony Gambaro on trumpet,
and Ken Drumm, baritone sax. “Box” and Tony left OOC in
1998 to become the original horn section of the highly
successful Burners’ UK.
“We actually all got back
together socially a year or so ago at Box’s 40th
birthday party”, says keyboard player Chris Cernik. “Out
of Control has always been more then just a band. It’s
like a family. We were always close friends, whether Box
and Tony were in the band of not. Then somebody said
‘let’s gig together again’, and the rest is history, or
it will be on June 5th.” Other current Out of
Control band members are: guitarslinger Denny Dwyer, Joe
Rocco on drums and Lucas Ruedy on bass.
